Violent Night Movie Review - 5/5 blood soaked stars

Violent Night is not your average Christmas movie. The story goes, before Santa was Santa he was a Viking warrior. Now, after 1,100 years of being jolly old saint Nick he's not so jolly. When he stumbles onto a robbery on Christmas, and gets stuck after the reindeer bug out, he goes murder hobo on the assailants.

I guess the first thing to note is, its violent... very violet. Classic Christmas objects get turned into weapons to brutality kill the attackers. There's a lot of blood so if that bothers you this isn't the movie for you. It's also very funny. I haven't laughed that much at a movie in a long time. The cheese factor is high with this one. Christmas puns flow like eggnog.

I love the Santa character. Grumpy, jaded, and tired, he's very relatable and sympathetic. I found myself cheering when he finally found the sledge hammer. Did not disappoint.

Defiantly not the movie you want to watch with the kiddos and a cup of cocoa but an instant Christmas classic in my house.
